Located inside the walls of a two storey 1980’s building, the brief was for an unassumingly tough facade with plenty of natural materials and rusted steel. The interior of the space including reception and offices was to be dark and technologically infused, with artificial lighting only where it is needed, representing a typical internal space of a recording/mixing studio. Natural light is only allowed to enter the space through a tinted glass slot to the reception area. A huge 1/2 ton steel pivot door confronts visitors and separates the outside world from this relaxed, yet technologically enhanced environment.
